Why I am voting for Curt Skoog.

I am supporting Curt because he is a strong and proven voice for Ward 2.  With the adoption of the Vision Metcalf plan, he has delivered on his promise to refocus OP’s development expertise back on Ward 2. With an unprecedented level of public participation, Vision Metcalf establishes a long term plan for redevelopment of Ward 2’s commercial areas.  Curt also led the way to secure funding to rebuild the Stonegate neighborhood pool which will open in the spring of 2009.

Curt’s other areas of focus:

• Safety – 2008 crime rate down 4%
• House Hold Waste – Chairman of the Solid Waste Taskforce
• Redevelopment – Approval of Cherokee South Shopping Center and Oak Park Mall tax incentive that are not backed by the city
• City Infrastructure – Continuing residential street maintenance
• Property Tax Rate – Reduced property tax rate over last four years
